Here's how I present Transformations on absolute value functions
I. Students should be familiar with the parent function f(x) = |x| , then through a series of manipulations students should be able to graph a function in the form f(x) = a|x-h| + k , and similarly write a function given a graph. The video below explains my approach to the lesson.
I hand out a graphical organizer in the form of a power point slide printed 6 per page.
